Winter Chalk Art and DIY Card Display

Let it Snow Chalkboard Art and DIY Christmas Card Display from TMTOMH Too Much Time on My Hands 1 copy

Every year I try a new way to hang and display the Christmas cards we receive and every year I do not like what I come up with. Do you guys have a tried and true way or place to share your cards? I am really looking for something easy and for this year my daughter came up with a solution and I think I like it!

For every holiday and season I change out the message on our gigantic kitchen chalkboard ( Here is the one I did for last Christmas) Holden, was helping me look for some Christmas inspiration to draw up there and she found this Let it Snow image and said, "Mommy, can't we hang the cards on the trees on the chalkboard after you draw it?' Ding Ding Ding, we have a winner.

For now, I am using this AWESOME metal clip chain I got from Decor Steals, but when more cards come in I am planning to just tape them to the chalkboard frame or maybe even right onto the trees in the drawing.

I am getting faster and faster at copying these chalk art inspirations and it is really one of my favorite things to do. For some reason it is very relaxing to me and I could do it all day...maybe I need to open my own business-heehee. Wait, I can only copy other examples and can't create my own so that probably isn't going to work. For now, when I need to decompress I just jump up on our kitchen table and start drawing.

  1. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this Kim!!!

  2. Love it! Just did a smaller version on my chalkboard. Thanks for the inspiration!

  3. So love this idea Kim. Might not be very appropriate for us in Australia, with our very hot, humid Xmases, but I’m doing it. It might help us to feel a lot cooler.
