My Denver Post Feature – And ALL of My Pallet Projects

I am a little excited this morning!

An article I was interviewed for in The Denver Post was finally published! I was contacted out of the blue by a freelance writer through a project he found in my ETSY shop, K&H Homegoods.

I had a chance to share my unnatural and passionate love of pallets while poor Damien was trapped and had to listen to me go on and on.

Then, the day after Better Homes and Gardens left a sweet photographer, Cyrus McCrimmon,  from The Post came over and set up a photo shoot in my garage/workshop and chatted and snapped away while I made a USA sign in celebration of The Olympics. They specifically asked for photos of the "nitty gritty" of working with pallets and as you see above, that's what they got. My garage/workspace was a disaster, but they wanted to see an actual workspace and I gave it to them.

They featured a few talented local artists who have used pallets in creative ways and I was honored to be included with some very creative folks.

I was thrilled that they also used a photo of my very favorite pallet sign too!

I thought this would be a fun time to share some of my pallet projects all rolled into one post!

Farmers Market Sign

Pallet Headboard

Chalkboard Pallet Shelf

Breckenridge Ski Sign

And don't worry, I am sharing a new pallet sign this week, (my first commissioned piece!) and I have 3 pallets in my garage right now just waiting to be hacked to pieces and remade into something beautiful!

Thanks for indulging my excitement today!

  2. Congrats Kim! How nice to have your talent featured! Have a wonderful week! Angie xo

  3. Congratulations!!! Very exciting indeed 🙂

  4. All of your pallet projects are so creative!
Now I want to make something,

  5. I absolutely love this, Kim! Your fave pallet is my fave, too. I also love the Breckenridge one with the altitude and such. Sean and I just hiked to an high elevation (to us) in Ruidoso, and we live at 800 ft. So glad we got in shape before doing that hike! Now we get why elevation is a big deal for adventurers!

  6. Oh WOW! I am so impressed. You just became MY HERO! I cannot imagine being photographed for those articles, etc but it’s obvious why you were chosen. You are very talented!!! You’ve inspired me to tackle that stack of pallets that I collected on the side of the road 6 months ago, and do something cool with them. I would love for you to link up at my party at Thanks for the inspiration!

  7. Kim…you inspire me lots!!! I just told my hubby to be on the look out for pallets…I want one to cover our fire pit and use as a table when not in use. You are so clever 🙂 XO

  8. You are absolutely inspiring! I can not believe all the ways you have used all these pallets and how beautiful and professional looking each one is. Wow!

  9. You are the pallet project queen! These are all so awesome! Great job!

  10. Just browsing around some more and I am seriously in LOVe. Me and my husband have a ton of pallets in our garage that we’ve been wanting to transform for my flea market booth. They’ve been sitting there forever (seriously). This is so inspriing, tho! Maybe just what I need!!!
