I did this little redo for under $400. Including the bookshelves, table, chairs, curtains, carpet, and organizational boxes. pretty much everything in the room other than the actual craft supplies.
When we first moved into this house our loft was a big giant mess.
Then I took what we had and some thrift store finds to create this craft area for our family.
Over the past year and a half I have saved some money and had $500 to create this new craft area that is working SO well for everyone!
The book shelf, organizers, table, rug and curtains are from IKEA. I actually put the entire bookshelf together all on my own!
I took 3 carloads of "stuff" to the thrift store and filled 2 garbage bags. What I was left with fits into all of these fabulous storage boxes.
The book page garland I made is the perfect accent above the bookshelves.
This free printable that I found years ago just cracks me up and adds a little pop of color.
I have a basket of supplies ready so the kids can hop up and start a project on their own!
This past weekend, I woke up at 8:15 and peeked out into the loft to find two happy and quiet little kids busily creating masterpieces:)
The two end chairs were thrift store redos that I ADORE.
The stools are from Decor Steals a ways back. I bought 4 and had no idea what I was going to do with them or where to use them, but they were so fabulous and a great deal and now they fit just perfectly with the table.
This bookshelf is from my classroom when I was teaching and got a black coat of paint.
I made the "create" sign out of old pallets.
The numbered boxes that hold scrapbook paper were made from postal boxes!
The sisal lamp has been there for a while and I still love it, so I had to work it into the room again!
The book page art was one of my first projects for this here blog and unbelievably I still like it.
This space truly fits our needs, our style, and our home.
