I have been having such a great time DIY'ing our personal care and home products using Young Living essential oils. I decided to create a "Summer Fun" gift basket for a friend going through a hard time. I am hoping these items will cheer her up and keep her feeling great this summer.
I got some of my friends together and we made lots of these items for our own use and to give as gifts. I gave some to teachers and as housewarming gifts for friends. Who can't use some extra summer products and I love that everything is natural and safe for kids and adults.
I grab empty spray bottles from Natural Grocers, Whole Foods, or Amazon. Then I print the labels out on full page sticker sheets and cut them apart as needed. I added glass drinking jars and stainless steel straws to this gift basket so the delicious Lemon essential oil can be added to water and safely enjoyed. The Lemon tastes great and serves a gentle detox for your digestive system.
I just couldn't resist the cheerful yellow flowers at the store and they were the perfect accent in this reusable wooden crate. I love stocking up on baskets and containers when they are on sale. They come in handy for all kinds of things and I love not wasting paper gift bags or wrapping paper.
These sprays have been saving us this summer! Feel free to save these images to use as your labels.
The OWIE SPRAY is a blend of oils great for your supporting your skin. They will protect and soothe cuts and scrapes. Because everything is natural, my kids get to take care of themselves and then they smell good to boot!
We put this light and fluffy moisturizing lotion on every morning and before we go outside on all of our summer adventures. It contains a few different carrier oils that nourish and soothe kids and adults skin. It also contains beeswax and non-nano zinc oxide, which will not absorb into your skin. Sometimes my kids look like white zombies, but I know they are supporting their skin in a natural way!
When I was a kid, my Nana would always use witch hazel compresses on us kids when we had spent too many hours outside on hot summer days. This spray always reminds me of her! The addition of Peppermint adds even more of the cooling effect. The Lavender is a soothing essential oil that supports your skin in a gentle and relaxing way. This is now my daughter's favorite product after her long outdoor swim meets!
This spray comes out every evening when we are eating dinner outside, when the kids are playing tag with the neighbors at dusk, and on all of our camping trips to the lake. The main ingredient in Purification is Citronella and I add the Cedarwood and Peppermint to create a nice scent that is also super useful on any summer evening spent outdoors.
I am always looking for more DIY recipes that are great natural solutions to products we used to purchase. Please share your best homemade summer product tips! Remember to stop by the other Blog Hoppers sharing essential oils gift baskets today too!
