Simple and Sweet Burlap Wreath

I really do like wreaths and I love making them. Take a look at this fun wreath I created last spring...

Then the lovely sun which pummels my front door with intense heat every afternoon did this to my wreath....

Lesson learned, no glue for wreaths that will adorn my front door.

I wanted to use my good old burlap to create a simple wreath for our front door....using no hot glue. Which is a challenge for me because I pretty much sleep with my gloe gun and pails of glue sticks stashed all over my house. Here is what I came up with.

I just wrapped strips of jute around a straw wreath.

Then I used the strip of red from the edge of the jute and scrunched, twisted, and twirled a little bow which I stapled to the wreath.

Then I painted an old  drawer knob red, found a washer

Ha Ha, love it!

Take that SUN!

and rigged the whole shebang together with a paper clip.

  1. Love it! I have the same challenge with my front door being in a very sunny spot and have a burlap wreath that has stood the test!

  2. Can I just say…..this is brilliant! Beautiful, simple……I love it! I liked the first one that melted, too. Actually, I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything you do that I’m not impressed with! So thanks and keep it up!

  3. Both are gorgeous! Love it! Makes me want to use some of that burlap I bought last night and make a wreath with it. LOVE!!!
