Owl Themed Baby Shower

Owl Themed Baby Shower 10

Last weekend I had the opportunity to co-host a baby shower for one of my very best friends!

I already shared some of my inspiration, banners, and free printables, but here is the low down on the beautiful day!

The true centerpiece was a fabulous cloth diaper owl one of my co-hosts, Jessica created.  (If you want to learn a bit more about how easy cloth diapering is now a days check out this post!) The diapers were rolled and then tied together with receiving blankets. The feet are Snappi's which are used instead of pins. The little nose is a washcloth, the eyes are big flower pins, and the ears are teeny tiny baby mittens. It was seriously amazing and cute and so special to Amy!

We strung a clothesline across the mantle and hung cute and useful baby gifts across it. A friend crocheted that A-Dorable hat and you can hop on over to Hip Violet for that bib and other amazingly unique baby gifts!

This was a little corner where guests could write their blessings and well wishes for the baby. They looked so cute hung on the branches and Amy has a sweet little book her mom made to hold all of them forever!

I really liked the book area best. We asked guests to bring books to start our girl's library. Here, everyone wrote personal messages as to why they chose the books and how they were special to them.  Amy is going to hang the branch and banner over the crib in the new nursery!

I made that log cupcake stand and don't be deceived, it was not as easy at it looks. I am not a precision and detail oriented crafter and getting the pieces level was a pain in my behind. It ended up involving little cardboard shims so don't look too closely. The cupcakes were a new recipe I will be sharing next week and were the best cupcakes I have ever made...I ate 3 while baking them-ugh! Jessica also made the owl brownies and her secret ingredient is blood orange olive oil and they were fabulous!

I forgot to take pictures of the rest of the food,  guess I was having too much fun! We had yummy brunch dishes like a southern grits casserole, red pepper and goat cheese strata, a cheese, veggie, and fruit tray, Lemonade Cucumber Sparklers(lemonade, club soda, and cucumber slices) and mimosas. We had such a fab time and I was so tired I came home and took a nap!

What are your favorite baby shower themes, food, and decoration ideas?
