When I say "healthy" what pops into your mind? sacrifice boring challenging expensive I am on a mission to change that thinking! Healthy routines can be easy, delicious, and fun. A healthy lifestyle is very important for my family and I work hard to set us up for success.

 

 

10 easy ways to create routines for a healthy lifestyle copy

 

 

1. Always have reusable water bottles ready to grab and fill when you are leaving the house quickly

 

2. Cut up fruits and veggies on Sunday afternoon so they are easy to grab throughout the week

 

3. Stock up on whole food bars and high protein/low sugar snacks at big box stores and have them accessible for everyone to grab as needed

 

4. Vitamins and supplements (we all use take vitamins -- Adults take vitafusion™  while the little ones take L’il Critters™) with a healthy breakfast every morning-so we don't forget later in the day and are fueled for whatever the day brings

10. Get enough sleep! People roll their eyes when my kids admit they go to bed at 7:30pm and then I chime in that I am almost always in my bed by 9 pm. Some think we are crazy, but it is how we are healthiest and happiest. Bodies are recovering, healing, and growing while we sleep and it is the best way to get a great start on the next day!

  3. I try to get my entire family active! We have done a lot of 5k fun runs together and bike all the time. We also try to cook at home as much as possible.

    I make healthy homemade meals at home, and we had our own garden that we grew veges and ate organic fruits from out trees. And we stay active by riding our bikes, walking and hiking!

    We are taking vitamins with extra Vitamin D, eating Greek yogurt with blueberries, eating walnuts, making sure to do my yoga and meditate to be a better person! We get flu shots, and wash our hands a lot with soap and water during cold and flu season. We also walk 30 minutes every day, or ride our bikes.

    I only buy water and non-dairy milk to keep in the house, that way no one is tempted by soda. I also try to keep lots of fresh fruit and veggies in the kitchen when possible.

  17. To keep my family healthy I use healthier substitutes when cooking and baking (such as olive oil instead of vegetable oil), i buy as much organic/natural food as possible, and limit processed foods. All of these tricks have been helpful in creating new habits!

  23. We are a family of runners and train and race together. We also eat healthy, I think that if the body is fueled right it will perform better and overall you’ll feel better.

  24. My healthy family tip is to wash your hands several times per day and also drink extra water to stay healthy.

  35. Make it a habit to walk your dog (if you have one) instead of just letting him/her out in the backyard. Make it a family thing..go for a nice walk with your dog and enjoy the outdoors.

  36. Since I’m the grocery shopper, meal planner, and cook for our family, I find that if I plan healthful meals and only stock nutritious food, we all tend to be much healthier.

  59. A healthy routine tip that works for me and my family is to go on an afternoon walk after work around 3 times a week to stay active.

  60. One thing that we always do at the same time every day is take our vitamins/medications. I feel this is so important as some things you cannot miss a dose of and it is so easy to forget if you get off schedule.
