These are my favorite kind of projects...
I took an old coffee can, an old copy of The Works of Shakespeare, and my Mod Podge and created a simple planter.
I cut a few book pages into small squares. I painted my can with Mod Podge, stuck my book pages all over the can, and painted it with a top coat of Mod Podge. Then, I tucked some small succulents into the can with potting soil.
Then, I thought, wouldn't this be so cute for the kids to take to school for their teachers on the first day? I grabbed some leftover wooden details from this back to school project. I wrote ,"grow" on one and the school year on the other and snuggled them in for a little extra special touch.
I think I am going to make a few more. I think this is a little different from the average back to school gift and hope our teachers will love them. Do you send back to school teacher gifts? I didn't usually receive them as a teacher, but I sure would have appreciated the thought. I hope teachers take this simple token and it brightens their stressful and busy first week!
