A Pallet Wine Shelf

I want to make like 10 of these and just hang them one above the other all over my dining room wall.

NO, Ms. Smarty Pants, NOT because I have that much wine, but because I love the chunkiness, the rustic wood, and the stellar color of the finish.

I hacked up another pallet to create this shelf. It really is a perfect fit for wine bottles and cookbooks.

I used my new favorite non-toxic wood stain to create the aged dark finish on the raw wood.

Take one steel wool pad

Put it into the bottom of a jar

Sprinkle used coffee grounds on top

Fill with vinegar

Let it marinate overnight and it is ready to use!

This will give your wood an old worn dark brownish gray finish.

This is my contribution to my son's preschool fundraising auction. I'm excited, but it is such pressure!

Like, what if no one bids on it?

What if I am standing there and hear someone whispering about what a joke it is?

What if ...

Well, then I guess I will just bring it back home and it actually will hang on my dining room wall!

  1. I think it’s great but some people just don’t get it. I once donated something hand painted and it was nice but only got a bid of $3 (this was on paper, where you write down what you want to pay). So, just a couple min. before the end of the auction I walked up and put $5 and bought it back. I even knew the lady who bid on it for $3 (worth at least $30… and I never did like her!)

  2. It is fabulous Kim! And everyone will love it…especially if it has wine in it. LOL! I seriously think it would look awesome hanging on a wall too! 🙂
