Duct Tape Christmas Trees

I am going duct tape crazy! I just can't control myself and had to take this fun new material into our holiday decorating.

I started with 2 rolls of duct tape, one white and one black. I tore 3 inch pieces and folded them in half the long way on top of themselves so they stuck together in strips. Then I used hot glue to make a ton of little loops.

I had 2 paper mache tree forms that i got for half off at Hobby lobby. I started at the bottom and hot glued loops around and around.

On one tree I did every other loop black and white. On the smaller tree I did rows of black and rows of white.

I am not going to lie, this one took a while, so put on a good Christmas movie and sit in front of the fire, if you are going to make these!

I also found a small bag of mini disco balls in the Christmas section of HL and they made the perfect tree toppers!

The beauty of this was that I didn't really measure or make anything precise and they still look really cute.

That adorbs metal chain is from Decor Steals and I plan on using it often. I wish I would have bought 2!

  1. Wow! I mean really, wow! I can’t believe that is duct tape. Your trees look amazing and I love the black and white color palette. Well done!

Black and white really elevates these trees from Christmas kitsch to mod decor. I wonder if you could do something similar with heavy paper or card stock? I have lots of paper scraps around.

  7. I have been studying my SEO and it shows that I got 96 hits from this post. However, I don’t see where you featured me or that I posted a comment. Although I am a Duck Tape artist myself and do appreciate the bump. I was mainly looking for it so that I could share it on all my pages as well. Could you let me know how I got so many hits from your site? I really want to share with everyone! Thanks.
