My daughter's Kindergarten teacher is having a baby!
The kids are mesmerized and so excited about it that we decided we had to throw together a little celebration! We made the kids a big part of it and their little faces were shining with pride throughout the entire party!
A few weeks before the party we bought plain white onesies and had the kids decorate them. We brought in stamps, fabric paint, fabric markers, and fabric oil pastels. They each wrote their name somewhere on the onesie so their teacher will always remember who created each masterpiece! I wrapped each up with ribbon and loaded them into a reusable basket.
I used an amazingly awesome free printable set from Green Apple Paperie via Catch My Party. Even if you don't need this set right now, go download it and save it because it is too cute to miss!
I printed out the lovely little banner and we strung it across the board. The kids decorated various sized t-shirts for the when baby gets older and we hung those on a clothesline from the ceiling. The kids also made an ABC book. Each child had one letter and created their own page. The substitute teacher had them bound in a hardcover book for a sweet keepsake!
My favorite part was the mom advice cards the kids wrote out during the party. They came up with some awesome advice:
*Don't leave the baby alone in the car*
*it needs clothes!*
(gotta love kindergartners!)
As in most classrooms we have a bunch of allergies. Gluten, dairy, eggs, and nuts...hmmm. We had a fruit tray and I came up with these
totally safe for anyone in the universe to eat Blueberry Muffins
I will share that recipe next week, because anyone who does any baking for kids in school needs a totally safe fail proof allergy free recipe in their collection.
Not too over the top and crazy, but not too simple. It was just the right balance for a party to show the love we all have for a wonderful teacher!
