{Knockoff} Lara Bar Recipe

Knockoff Lara Bars- Fruit and Nut Balls- Grain Free GLuten Free Dairy Free copy

SO, I have been doing the Whole 30 and these little snacks have SAVED me. The Whole 30 is a cleanse where you eliminate all dairy, sugar, grains, legumes and alcohol from your diet. You aren't supposed to be doing lots of snacking, but I spend a lot of time in my car running carpool and school pickups and I need supplies to get me through.

These are very similar to Lara Bars.

grain free, dairy free, sugar free

Bonus: My Kids LOVE 'em and they are WAAAY cheaper than the originals. I make them into small balls because I don't always need an entire bar. I store them in the fridge and it is so easy to pop them into lunchboxes and my purse in a hurry.

I grab all of the nuts and fruit from the bulk food section at Whole Foods. The coconut oil is a white solid sold in the olive oil section.

Homemade {Knockoff} Lara Bars

1 cup raw walnuts

1/2 cup raw cashews

12 Medjool Dates

1 teaspoon salt

1 cup dried unsweetened cranberries

1 Tablespoon of coconut oil

1/2 cup shredded coconut flakes

1. Pulse the nuts and salt in a food processor until very finely chopped and they just start sticking together. Set aside.

2. Pulse the dried fruit and coconut oil until it turns into a sticky paste

Plop it all into a big bowl with the shredded coconut and mix it up with your hands. Roll into balls and store in the fridge.

  1. These look great! I wanted to let you know that I will be featuring this in my “What I Bookmarked This Week” post tomorrow – stop by and see!

  2. Thanks so much for sharing these! My husband and I are trying to eat no sugar and no bad carbs and I’m always needing a snack in the middle of the afternoon. I usually end up grabbing a piece of fruit or nuts, but this would make another great alternative. Thanks again!!
