I had found a bunch of old clip boards for a song at the thrift store a few months ago. I didn't have anything in mind when I bought them, but knew they would come in handy one day!
I decided we really needed a little something right near the fridge to jot down needed items as they popped up. I was feeling crafty and the piece of paper I pop up on the fridge with a magnet always seems to float off into the abyss by the time I am ready to go to the grocery store.
Well, this one isn't going to just disappear, it's too heavy! I put magnet strips on the back and have it on the side of the fridge where I am always preparing food. It is perfect and we are totally using it effectively...and I love how it looks:)
To make it, I taped off the edges of the board and painted 2 coats of chalkboard paint. I do make my own, but I have the Rust-Oleum Chalkboard paint leftover from this project, so I just used that. Then, I used a little stencil to make the "G" and outlined it with my Elmer's Paint Pens (which I heart.)
Next, I used my trusty old jute to tie the chalk on there, because if that wasn't tied on we would never be able to find it.
Anyone else dones anything cute and fun with clipboards? I have like 5 left and now I am itching to do something fun with them!
