I Used That Old Fence Again

Man, are you sick of this old fence yet?

Shelves   Headboard  Family Art   Curtain Rod  Airplane Art  Frame

He He, me neither. My husband however, thinks I am nutty for keeping that old, splintered, dangerous wood laying around our garage. Even though he likes the projects I come up with, he is convinced one of us is going to end up impaled and  infected from all the rusty nails.

We all spent a LONG Saturday at my husband's new office. I installed, shelves, a message center, a huge map, a plumbing curtain rod...

ugh wait, I am getting tired again. Let's just focus on this fab chalkboard for now.

I used black cabinet nails and just cut and screwed in....willy nilly....I like it like that.

I like how the boards are all uneven and choppy.

It is totally flowing with my industrial chic vibe

and flowing with this desk redo I already completed!

I also splurged and purchased the Rustoleum Chalkboard paint for this one. This one will be used often and hard, and I wanted to be sure it was going to hold up. I wasn't positive my homemade version was up to the job and I didn't want to risk having to redo the chalkboard next month!

Oh, don't worry I will be sharing the rest of my sweat equity later this week!

Sometimes people do not mind about junky things. They end up into garbage… I was planning to throw my junky things or burn it. However, when I came across to your site I change my mind by the way thanks for this tips.

  2. Ha! You again! We must have similiar taste since I clicked on you again from Southern Lovely. This one is too funny! I really have to read more about this fence of yours. Just by the pics at the beginning of the post it all looks like you made some nice things out of a fence that wasn’t loved by all. That’s ok it’s all in the eye of the beholder, right? ;)

Old fence boards and deck boards make my heart go pitter patter. I love it! The chalkboard is fab and your husband is lucky to have such a cool space to work!

You inspire me so much! I was digging through your chalkboard posts from the search feature to see if you built one. I am, ironically, decorating my husband’s office right now. He was like, HELLO! Advertising your stuff! I was all, okay!

Seriously, I had narrowed down making him a sign about his office nickname, “Mr. Awesome”. I was digging through Pinterest and saw one of your posts, and I was all… YEA! Kim, and then I saw that it said “Be Awesome” at the top, and I was all, YEP!!! That’s it!

I have 4-5 pallets in my garage so I’m fixing to do a pallet marathon =D!
