DIY Message Center

If you follow along here at Too Much Time, you know my husband gave me free rein to decorate his office. It was a BLANK SLATE. We decided on an industrial chic theme which totally blends in with style going on in the rest of the building.

Here are the first and second projects I shared.

This one was super fun, thrifty, and useful, a Message Center.

It is on the wall behind the desk and I just love it!  I started by using the Martha Stewart Precious Metals paint chip samples from Home Depot to make the calendar. I put it in a cheapie picture frame from Hobby Lobby. One that has clips and no actual frame with the glass.

Next, I measured out cardboard pieces to go on either side of the frame and attached cork boards to the cardboard using the enclosed adhesive.

I hung the frame on the wall and hammered the cork/cardboard pieces right into the wall using old rusty nails. Then I used my old fence...(AGAIN) and framed it all out to finish it off.

Then, I found some metal bins at Joann's on 70% off clearance! SCORE! I think they were like $2 each.

So here it is! I will let the photos speak for themselves.

So, whatcha think? Will it be useable in a busy office? Does it fit the industrial vibe I was going for? Do you like it?
