A lovely photographer from California, Katie Baldi, had me make her a 2 sided sign to hang over the walkway of her new studio.
I busted up a pallet (or I begged my husband to bust up a pallet) and reattached the pieces with metal brackets on the sides. I also added the metal eye hooks and chains so it can hang above the studio.
I reproduced her logo, transferred it using carbon paper (find out how here), and painted it by hand.
I just love the bright and cheerful colors on the weathered and slightly beat up wood.
After painting it, I added 2 coats of polyurethane which brought out some of the color and uniqueness of the wood pieces.
A sign like this would look good in a garden or on your front porch. Add your last name, a welcome, or holiday message.
I am now making one for my husbands new office redo. I am reproducing his logo and it will hang above his desk.
Check out my inspiration and one project I already completed for him. I have these signs listed in my ETSY shop now. I just loved making this one and hope to make a few more in the future!
