What’s Cookin, Good Lookin?

I figured I would just keep going with the home tour. Over the past few weeks I have shared my dining room, living room, stairwell (that's classified as a "room" ? right?). So here we are in my kitchen which opens up to our family room and is where we spend 80% of our time. Which is also why it pretty much never looks this organized and lovely:)

That chalkboard on the island was there when we moved in-score! I am thinking about building a new top for the island to extend it and add bar stools there. That is where the kids bally up to help out with the cooking and baking, well, mostly they are really good at cracking eggs and licking brownie batter spoons, but let's just call it, "help." What are you thinking of those glass front cabinets?

I love glass front cabinets, but the reality is, I am not the person for glass front cabinets. We have too many sippy cups, too many mismatched dishes and cups, too many ugly spice jars, and honestly, I just don't have it in me to keep it pretty. So this was my quickie solution. I cut the pieces and hot glued them to the insides of the cabinets-classy round here I tell ya!

The top of the cabinets are for my big stuff that doesn't quite fit anywhere else and my favorite stuff.

And my very favorite thing is my hometown farmers market sign!

This handy little guy is where we drop our used cloth napkins and paper towels. I snagged it a while back on Decor Steals and it is so cute and so functional, we just couldn't live without it.

And yes, that little bottle holder on the mantle was also from a daily deal site- I just can't remember which one. I snip my herbs from outside and keep them close by for easy access when I'm cooking.

I used old wood to build that 'lil shelf above the table.

That scale was $8 at the thrift store-score- and I filled an old jar with candles from IKEA.

This eye chart calendar is stinkin awesome and I couldn't love it more.

So there you have it. It's where we actually  "live."

You have so many great accent pieces and love the DIY! Those covered window cabinets? Awesome! Sometimes the smallest projects can make a big difference (I can’t have glass cabinets either. lol) Definite score on the chalkboard! Thanks so much for sharing your super cute kitchen! Love it!
