July 4th Goodie Poppers

I love going to the fireworks on the 4th of July. We set up our big blanket with friends right next to stream and playground at a local park and settle in for hours and hours (we are right next to the restrooms too:)

I thought it would be fun to have little treat poppers for the kids to unwrap throughout the evening. I filled them with goldfish crackers, trail mix, tootsie rolls, temporary tattoos, mini light sticks, and pretzel sticks. They were so easy to make and a special patriotic decoration in my dining room for now!

Here is how I made these cuties.

The first type were made with toilet paper rolls, patriotic ribbon and handkerchiefs I found at Hobby Lobby. I will just let the photos explain.

The second kind I made using scrapbook paper.

I think the kids are going to be very excited to find out I have treats hidden inside!

And the sweet little basket I repainted from Goodwill is just perfect for displaying and toting our firecrackers on the 4th!

    Kim,

This is a great idea and they look so cute too! Sound like you have a great 4th planned, I am jealous! We don’t have anything like that near me and it sounds like a lot of fun. Enjoy!
