Whoa, baby

I loved the 70's, I was born in the 70's, still jam to music of the 70's.

But these brown wood sconces were just cryin for a makeover. So I did it!

These babies have been around my garage for a while and somehow, they didn't have a "before" photo shoot.  Let me paint you a picture...they were brown, an orangey and dingey brown.

I made my standard homemade chalk paint from some blue that was also hanging out in my garage and painted two coats.

Then I scratched the sconces up and applied Annie Sloan Dark Wax.

Then I added these cute little metal number plaques I found at Hobby Lobby. I also used some small black tack nails to attach them.

AHHHHH, so much better.

AND, they match my living room curtains perfectly!

They turned out awesome! Some of the best redo’s are the icky, orangey, 70′s stuff that nobody else (but us) wants. All hail upcycling crap into fabulous things!
