House Cleaning

WOO HOO-YAY-LOVE IT

He He-Well, I will admit cleaning is not my favorite things to do-but really those people who say they like cleaning are insane and not in my world! So, I am definitely in the market for ways to make cleaning, easier, smoother, less torturous.

Coming home to a clean house, like a really clean house would be my number one choice and Molly Maid is the cleaning service of choice!

I had heard of Molly Maid Service, but had no idea how helpful their website could be. You can find out about their stellar cleaning services and schedule your free in-home consultation Or you can scour their tride and true cleaning tips to help you with tons of messes including "green" house cleaning tips, cleaning schedules, and special considerations for pet owners.

There are even some cute and helpful videos on the Molly Maid website that will help you keep your home cleaner and may even give you a chuckle. There are a bunch of topics but a few that caught me eye are, "All Hands On Deck," which helps you get kids involved in your cleaning, "Jurassic Furniture," taught me how to remove those monster footprints furniture left in my carpet, and this one about how to get rid of "ring around the collar."

Really, I have been fighting with those collar stains for years.

With all this taking care of your house maybe you should try for a chance to win a "Take Care of You" gift package from Molly Maid! If you need some pampering then this is for you-and really who couldn't use a bit of pampering?

    My cleaning tip:

So that as a family we can have more fun on the weekends, we do a “Family Speed Clean” Saturday morning.
We all gather in one room, I set a timer for 15 minutes, and we clean, all of us, until the timer runs out. We do this in each major room, everyone scrubbing (I have 5 kids) and helping tidy up. In just 45 mins-1.5 hrs, the house is totally clean. Even the babies help by “washing” things down with vinegar and a soft rag. {They usually hang around the coffee table the entire time.} It saves me time during the week by not having to deep clean by myself and we can bond by helping each other out!

My favorite cleaning tip is something my family refers to as doing a “white tornado”. We gather everyone with cleaning supplies into one room and set a timer for 10 minutes…then clean like maniacs until time is up! We move from room to room until we’re done!

my favorite cleaning tip is for pans that have burned stuff stuck to the bottom: make a paste with baking soda and water, let it sit for a few hours or overnight. Wipe clean in the morning. If there is still some grime, repeat and clean again. Works like a charm!

I use certain products that are my favorites, such as Mrs. Meyers. I also believe in putting things away as you go so you never wind up with a major cleanup. It makes it so much easier when you take care of it in small spurts.
