Good Old “57″

I made a chalkboard.

It was an oldy moldy wood frame with no glass.

BLECH

I layered one coat of Kingston paint in Hampton. Then I sanded and distressed it.

Then I painted the chalkboard paint right onto the board that was fit into the frame. It was still kinda plain, so I added some very hip, cool, and trendy washi tape to the bottom ledge.

I also found these little metal numbers and popped one on too.

Then I used the same tacks I used on this dresser and threw 'em on in a few places.

I am LOVIN it!

Like that washi tape dontcha? Don't worry I will be using it bunches in the future because it is cool

"Cool as Kim Deal"

Do you know that song? It's an oldish diddy by the Dandy Warhols and they are referring to Kim Deal of the Pixies and Breeders.

The thing is...my maiden name is Kim Diehl, pronounced "Deal." So long story short, when something is reeeeeaaaalllly cool, I refer to it as,

"Cool as Kim Deal,"

because I am a dork like that!

Since I am all Breeders crazy this morning here is my fave....well one of 'em....it's so hard to choose....this one is freaking great....this one is so fun....

Don't you even TRY and tell me that chic doesn't rock

p.s. I am sick and have been out of commission since last Thursday....that is my only explanation as to how and why a post about a chalkboard ended up with the Breeders video...

This is cute! I currently have those little number embelishments on my desk waiting for a different project, but I might have to get some more to try on something with that washi tape.
