Did you know Earth Day is April 22?
I have been looking all over creation for some fun ways to celebrate the day and
I hope I can inspire you to celebrate with your family in some small way too!
Use an old milk carton and wrap it in strips of torn burlap to create a lovely planter.
Make some muffins using local ingredients and spruce up an old egg carton to give to a friend!
Have some fun reading Earth friendly stories with your children.
Plant some seeds and decorate an old tin can to create your own herb garden.
Use those plastic bags (you got stuck with last time you went to the grocery and forgot your reusable bags) to make a fun wreath.
Create some carrot patch snacks with your kids.
Grab a BIG downed branch on your Earth Day hike and turn it into a coat rack.
Make a recycling sorting game out of old magazines.
Make a pencil case from an old cereal box.
Or use your old cereal boxes, cover in burlap, and make magazine organizers.
Make a few bottles of your own non-toxic disinfectant.
Decorate an old cardboard box with twigs and create a rustic pot.
Make a lantern from a recycled plastic peanut butter jar and battery operated tea light.
Figure out a good way to organize your recycling (here are a few ideas).
Use old shirts to make an easy, super soft and absorbent bath mat.
Turn and empty lotion bottle into a portable charging station.
Use old soda bottles as a bracelet organizer.
Use the pieces of a broken cup, plate, or mug and make a unique key chain.
Or if you are really ambitious use a clementine crate and paint stirrers to make a doll bed!
Let's see... start saving, sticks, milk cartons, old t-shirts, bottle caps, tin cans, egg cartons, clementine crates and plastic bags....
and you will be ready for a bunch of fun activities next weekend!
