If only my dog, Scout, wasn't against me!
Every fall, I plant lots of bulbs in anticipation of a colorful and early spring. However, at some point over the winter, Good Old Scout finds some irresistible soil that she simply must dig up. Of course it always seems to be exactly where I planted a new batch of bulbs.
So, just as I have tons of summer flowers and veggies in pots I am going to add some potted bulbs to my backyard and patio
and add some throughout the house to really brighten up the joint!
I really love the idea of giving bulbs as little thank you gifts. A living gift is always lovely and bulbs will bring some cheer and excitement in the next few weeks and then can be planted in the ground to re-bloom next year! I love this centerpiece from Family Chic and I may need to bring this to our friend's Easter brunch.
I especially love that you can grab bulbs anywhere, the grocery store, Home Depot, I even found a bag at my corner Walgreens Pharmacy! So if you are running late and need a hostess gift, a quick and easy centerpiece, or just a little something to brighten your day, bulbs are a great choice!
I love this display of tulips in an elegant and simple silver serving bowl.
Or buy pre-planted bulbs in a generic pot and the crafting possibilities are endless!
You could wrap the black pot in fabric scraps, Mod Podge it with scrapbook paper, or even drop it into a used brown paper bag and secure with pretty twine!
Well, there you have it!
An easy and inexpensive way to bring some spring fever into your home and put your own creative spin on it!
