I started really using essential oils when my daughter was a newborn.

When she was congested, I would put eucalyptus oil in her warm mist humidifier while she slept and it was heavenly. Then when I switched to cloth diapers, I started making my own baby diaper spray instead of buying wipes.

Now, I have bottles all over the house and use them all the time. It is an inexpensive and natural way to clean, freshen, and heal. If you haven't tried using them before it is so easy and you need to go try one of these recipes immediately!

  4. Thanks for sharing. You make it sound so easy…I’ve been wanting to use essential oils, but didn’t know where to start. Now I do!

It really is so easy! Just go to Whole Foods buy a few that smell nice to you and then come home and look up recipes. Or just mix some that you like in a spray bottle with water and mist it all over your house:)

Where do you buy the essential oils?

    • Kim says:

I grab mine at Whole Foods and Vitamin Cottage/Natural Grocers here in Denver. There are tons of places on-line to buy it too. Most of those links I included have recipes and also sell and ship the oils.

  6. Great list! I’ve pinned this on Pinterest! :) Essential Oils are just fabulous! :)

If you have a child (or adult) who has difficulty relaxing mix a spray of Lavendar oil with water and spray in their area. You will see a difference as soon as they have breathed the oil. I sometimes spray the air in my daycare before naptime to help the children relax. It works. Adding the chamomile would be good too.

I use euchalyptus, peppermint, and lavendar oil in a bowl of water placed on a candle warmer in my bedroom at night and seldom wake up congested anymore.

    • Kim says:

I need to try your candle warmer night time trick! That sounds lovely. I also put a few drops of a “mellow mix” essential oil at the base of my son’s head every morning and it totally calms him down a notch
